昨年写真コンテスト「ホールド・スティル」を開催したキャサリン妃。ロックダウン中にイギリスで撮影された写真を公募、その中から人の強さや絆を特に強く感じられるもの100点を選出するという企画で、その後展覧会も行われた。さらに今年には写真も発売された。
昨年から妃は入選者や写っていたモデルたち1人1人と電話で対談、撮影にまつわるエピソードを語り合っていた。スコットランドに住む4歳の女の子ミラも妃と電話で話した1人。彼女は急性リンパ性白血病を患っている。ロックダウン中には化学療法を受けていたが、新型コロナウイルスに感染するリスクが高いことため父と姉と離れて母と2人で暮らしていた。父娘がガラス窓を隔てて会う姿を母が撮影、その写真が入選した。

電話でミラから「プリンセスの衣装は持っている？」と尋ねられた妃。ミラがプリンセスのコスチュームを着て遊ぶのが好きなこと、好きな色がピンクであることを聞いた妃は「あなたと会うときにはピンクのドレスを着ていく」と約束、ミラを大喜びさせた。
現在妃はウィリアム王子と共にスコットランドを訪問中。このチャンスを生かして妃がその約束を果たしたことが明らかになった。妃はミラと母をスコットランドのホリールード宮殿に招待、ピンクのドレスを着てミラの前に登場した。この日はミラもピンクのドレス。妃は「あなたを思い切り抱きしめたいわ。とても素敵なドレスね。回って見せてくれる？」。
